Glass Ceiling Breaker
Kamala Harris was about to break through one of the highest glass ceilings there is by becoming the first woman, first Black American, and first Asian American Vice President of the United States.
We thought that fact deserved some attention.
This is the story of how we broke some glass to commemorate Kamala Harris in the way she deserved - and got billions of eyeballs on the work along the way.
The activation celebrated Harris’ achievement while inviting people from all ages and backgrounds to learn about other female glass ceiling breakers throughout recent history.
Launching days after the U.S. Capitol riots, the piece changed the narrative around broken glass from vandalism to celebration.
Even the Vice-President herself stopped by for an unexpected visit.
The artwork was created by Simon Berger and the activation was orchestrated by m ss ng p eces.
The campaign has been awarded in Cannes, One Show, D&AD, Webby and Campaign’s Power of Purpose.
